| DESIGN NAME: Lumino PRIMARY FUNCTION: Single Street Bench INSPIRATION: The aim was to create a piece of street furniture using one monolith single twisted pipe. To be not only a bench but also some kind of a city sculpture, a piece of art that can also be usefull UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This single bench is a piece of street furniture which needs to have several very important characteristics - weather resistant, anti-vandal and easy to clean. The simple shape, smooth design and no exposed fixation can ensure all of these. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Material allows the bench to look solid at daylight and be transparent at night when the internal illumination starts to glow. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Total duration of development - six months |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: There are three types of materials depending on the environment: solid surface stone-like material, acrylic shiny plastic, semi-transparent acrylic material SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Height - 810 mm, Length - 420 mm, Width - 610 mm TAGS: Bench, City, Environment, Furniture, Vasil, Velchev RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Suitable materials for city environment CHALLENGE: There are two things here that are challenging - the manufacturing and the installation. Produce it in one solid piece will be quite difficult so it will be separated in parts. That will make the installation easier.
