| DESIGN NAME: Wuxi C&D He Xi PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Architecture INSPIRATION: Design Inspiration: Helv City built by Wu Zixu That Wu Zixu built Helv City has been a deed praised far and wide. Wu Culture basically has the exquisite, far-reaching, elegant and flexible features. Its characteristics can be seen everywhere, from "Suzhou soft dialect" to the ancient city layout of "land parallel with flowing water" and from intricate gardens to delicate embroidery, sculpture, Pingtan, woodcut and Kun Opera. All in all, Wu Culture pursues the unity of Elegance and Interest. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is skillfully planned from the layout of Helv City (inner and outer) that has profound connotation and imperial style. It innovates traditional Chinese architectural style and elements with modern techniques. From facade to components and planning to lanes, all elements are upgraded based on tradition. Specific Chinese Zen style upgrades courtyard scene and living experience, bringing the real poetic dwelling for modern people and reproducing the Chinese Zen living aesthetics. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It innovates planning and product design with ancient building essence and the Jiangnan garden style concept. For architectural design, it highlights the logical beauty shown by columns, beams, arches, rafters, purlins and distinctive roof with deep overhang in good shape. And the landscape features in artistic conception. With the unique artistic technique in the limited space, the buildings are merged with the nature by Chinese element to realize the highest state of the house and yard unity. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main materials: stainless steel plate, aluminium alloy, stone, integrated wall plate SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: At the beginning, with the plot complexity and "3 horizontal and 3 vertical" urban Rd network, the urban well easily comes to mind. It is located in Wuxi Economic Development Zone: south of Xuefeng Rd, east of Xincheng Rd, west of Guanshun Rd and north of Hefeng Rd. Surrounded by main Rds, this area connects Lihu and Wuhu Avenues with Wuxi inner ring expressway. It includes 3 plots A, B and C. A and B are residential land (with a planned Rd A and B) while C is for school. The total land area is 143,852.70sqm with the total area 308,842.43sqm. The ground floor area is 218,765.49sqm while the underground 90,076.94sqm. Therefore, Wuxi He Xi project is the opportunity. Based on the quality first principle, the project takes C&D's consistent Chinese style as the keynote, and refines modern materials and techniques to reshape the product, facade and space. With the participation and discussion of experts from group, regional and urban companies and design institutes, He Xi project was unveiled. CHALLENGE: There are four challenges in the construction process. Firstly, how to combine four land masses orderly so as to present a sense of whole; secondly, how to balance the use of resources and spaces in avoid of rigid layout; thirdly, how to make the nine-story building enjoy high-end quality as luxurious as villa; lastly, how to avoid large areas of elevated land.
