| DESIGN NAME: Boxabl Casita PRIMARY FUNCTION: House INSPIRATION: There is a housing crisis around the world, housing is too expensive and inaccessible for too many people due to the high cost. The high cost is due to construction on site rather than in a factory. We knew solving the issues that prevent housing manufacturing in the factory could change the way people live and put many more roofs over people's heads. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Boxabl is a construction technology that builds rooms in a factory which combine on the building site to create virtually any type of construction. Unlike other factory construction, rooms ship 8'6" wide and 13'6" tall anywhere around the world, and upon arrival, unpack to 20' wide with tall 9'6" ceilings. The rooms ship 100% complete with kitchens, bathrooms, utilities, corridors, closets, and even fireplaces already installed. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Boxabl are built in mass volume on a production line in our North Las Vegas factory at an output of 2 per day. They are shipped via pickup truck around the world and can be unpacked with no crane and no additional crew. Boxabl cost about 1/2 a traditional home with a much higher quality standard. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Boxabl project started 5 years ago and was displayed for the first time in 2019 as a concept at the world's largest building show, the International Builders Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, where it was acclaimed as best of show. Production Boxabl were displayed at the 2020 International Builders Show in Las Vegas, Nevada where it was once again acclaimed as best of show, with approximately 9000 people visiting the home. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: There is nothing Traditional about Boxabl construction. Boxabl walls, floors, and ceilings are made in one piece from steel, concrete, and EPS insulating foam, and pressed together with 1100 kilos of pressure. The results are incredibly strong unitary panels, unlike weak wooden buildings. Boxabl panel tech is everything proof, bugs cannot eat it, mold cannot grow, the panels cannot take on water, and have the highest fireproof rating. Each panel is so strong they beat all the current US codes for wind shear, hurricane, floor, and roof loading as well as incredible insulation properties resulting in a zero carbon footprint home and average monthly utility bills of an estimated $28 depending on local energy rates. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Boxabl are currently for sale and available in sizes of 35 sq meters. Unable to benefit from the advantages of factory production results in high cost, low quality and long delivery times. Efforts to bring construction into the factory, such as modular, manufactured, container and trailer homes yield small improvements with big drawbacks, including small delivery radii, low ceilings, narrow rooms, code compliance limitations, etc. Building construction accounts for 4% of U.S. GDP and remains a regional business, the last product category without a public national consciousness. CHALLENGE: Boxabl is a comprehensive building system that fixes the structural problems with factory production at low cost, high quality and high speed, creating the potential to manufacture the largest single share of residential product annually in a factory. Boxabl can create the first national consumer brand home.
