PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Drop Thread Earrings
INSPIRATION:
I personally love dangling earrings to begin with. I am hoping to set up my own online jewelry business with a range consisting only of my own signature pieces. Designs should be different from what the rest of the market has to offer and with a point of difference. As for Technical Inspiration, it had come from a lantern that i made with my dad during childhood.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
A unique arrangement of floral drop earrings presented in a 3D style. The floral designs stood out at all angles with the embedded stones lit up the earrings like lanterns. Also, 2 bars were added at the centre for balance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Main purpose here is to show this earring is able to give off a 3D feel, earrings can be threading on the earhole (as in the photo) or on hook earrings. This design could also be manufactured with coloured stones. Pink, blue, green etc.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Project started in 2019 finished around April 2019 in Melbourne

2 bars added at the centre for balance, item can be a floral swirl or any other shapes like leafs etc.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
My main goal was to create a delicate piece that uplifts a woman's elegance, no matter if she's attending a function or at work, Simple yet elegant. Therefore, this design with flower petals was chosen. Due to limitation of funds, I could only realise this with Cubic Zirconias. However, I do believe I still maintained the same shining effects.
CHALLENGE:
I naturally do not have the gifts in drawings, I normally make my prototypes with papers, and try to illustrate as close as possible to the final envisioned product. The rest of the items details will have to be communicated with the manufacturer bit by bit.

I'm absolutely in awe of the Drop Thread Earrings created by Shui Yee Chin. The design is simply stunning, combining modern and traditional elements to create something that is fresh and timeless. This piece of jewelry is truly a work of art. I absolutely love the Floral SY Drop Thread Earrings by Shui Yee Chin!
