| DESIGN NAME: You and We PRIMARY FUNCTION: Visual Language INSPIRATION: This project is that volunteers settle into daily life and hope to bring about positive social change. For those who find it difficult to volunteer, focused on attracting interest by reducing the distance and clearly showing the positive image of volunteering. All visual elements are inspired by basic shapes that are easy to see around and LEGO, a toy that is familiar to everyone. In particular, using modular elements such as LEGO, it is designed for easy recombination and expansion. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Visual Assets are all 83 volunteer representative images and consists of 54 graphics, 15 illustrations, and 14 icons. It is designed that you can easily understand what kind of volunteer work is for each category. The graphic is based on modular design with the theme of volunteer work and people, and Illustration shows various kinds of volunteer work that anyone can do, delivering a familiar feeling. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Korea Central Volunteer Center, I reconsidered the positive image of volunteer work and designed it to make the public feel familiar. The graphic, illustration, and icon focused on clarifying the mood and meaning of the design and communication for each role. It took a lot of trial and error to collect a lot of data, pick the key, and visually simplify it so that you can see the image of each volunteer activity. For anyone who needs an image related to volunteer work, it has been distributed on its website to download. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Research the image to figure out a common pattern among volunteers. Used Adobe Illustrator to work on a vector-based basis, so that people could use it in a multi-purpose way. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Visual Assets: 54 graphics, 15 illustrations, 14 icons. Manual book: 210mm x 297mm. Format: AI, SVG, PNG, JPG, PDF. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Survey, interviews, and discussions were conducted on those who volunteer for the image of volunteer work. Based on the data collected, 83 items were categorized to better communicate volunteer work. I collected the photos and images from each item to determine what actions or objects are in common. Based on this data, I simplified the behavior, mood, environment, and characteristic props of the person acting based on this data so that each item can select appropriate keywords and visualize the meaning in one cut. CHALLENGE: It was face to challenge for the volunteer to be active and communicate with volunteers, rather than to be pitiful and passive. In general, there is a stereotype that volunteer work helps people in need. Breaking my stereotype, I re-configured it over and over again how far I can express the "interaction between the volunteer and the recipient" I'm trying to convey.
