Home > Winners > Design #51324 >Interview
Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Sravan Satheesh (SS) for A' Design Awards and Competition. You can access the full profile of Sravan Satheesh by clicking here. Access more information about the award winning design Loop here.

Interview with Sravan Satheesh at Saturday 22nd of April 2017

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
SS: Main principle behind LOOP water heater is the microwave heating of water. The fact that the energy absorbed by water in a unit time will be determined by the frequency of microwave and the flow of water. This helped in creating a heater which provides water just at the bathing temperature.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
SS: Major factors behind this design are the heating time reduction, efficient energy saving and pleasing design unlike bulky traditional geysers.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
SS: I will of course make is product available in the market once I complete my studies. Also, I am willing to cooperate with companies if they are interested in making this dream come true.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
SS: The concept came to my mind very quickly, in a week or less. But to find the feasibility and possibility, I had to research a lot. This was created as a part of my first semester Master of Design course in Industrial Design, so the project duration was 2 months.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
SS: This was created as a part of my first semester Master of Design course in Industrial Design, which I am pursuing now.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
SS: As of now, it is not being used by any company. But yes, I want to make this product available in the market.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
SS: It was a design project in my curriculum

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
SS: Yes, it was designed by me and my partner Rahul Krishnan and we both were guided by our faculties and well known designers Parag Anand, Aditi Singh and Ruchin Chaudhary.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
SS: There are no similar products, but there is a same category. The technology, efficiency and design make it unique.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
SS: The form of the design, created to function effectively, is the factor behind the name.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
SS: Technology behind and the design brief.

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
SS: The technology used is what makes it unique.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
SS: A friend of mine suggested me.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
