Alexander and Marie Luise Bermbach, the lead designer of the winning baby products design Babycrib LOLA explains “BERMBACH handcrafted's handmade rattan bed for children fulfills the need of an individual and sustainable furniture, which can be enjoyed for a very long time. The well-tried natural material rattan is obtained from the dried plant tendrils of the fast-growing rattan climbing palm, which reach a length of many meters in a short time. Their use is a sustainable alternative to cutting down prized trees, thereby helping to protect the Indonesian rainforest. For the leather winding they use cowhide tanned with oak extract.
