Nga Ying, Amy Sun, the lead designer of the winning furniture design Growing Table explains “The Growing Table is made of walnut hardwood, which reflects the color of soil and creates a backdrop that makes plants more visible. The overall design is an intersection of dynamic movement and static posturing. The table provides a space where plants can grow and be viewed at the table in order to create a place for relaxation and interacting with nature. The tabletop surface diffuses light to create a greenhouse feature.
