Akitoshi Imafuku, the designer of the award winning project Baia says “Baia came into existence in Shibuya the center of Tokyo metropolitan as a cave suddenly appeared in the city. It consists of 5 floors; a basement, 3 stories, and a rooftop terrace, and the design concept of the entire floor is a cave within the city. The designers believed only a minimal design could visualize the fascinating and exotic atmosphere of a cave, and kept it minimal using emerald green lighting and mortar which they think suited for this modern cave.
