Ryohin Keikaku Co.,Ltd. and UDS Ltd., the lead designer of the winning design Muji Hotel Beijing explains “It was designed to aim conveying Muji’s concept, a simple, pleasant life and this is good enough. The hotel has a gallery and a book lounge in order to be open to the local community. By using bamboo, bricks and wood which were scrapped from local Hutong area, the hotel space could harmonize with the atmosphere of neighborhood town. Natural materials such as diatomaceous earth, hemp, cotton and stone were also selected to the design of rooms.
