Shan Ling 3: Redefining Packaging for the Chinese Jump Rope National Team
Xusong Wang, the creative mind behind Shan Ling 3, has designed a limited edition packaging for the Chinese jump rope national team, incorporating traditional Chinese elements such as the national flag, calligraphy, and idioms. Inspired by the Chinese legend of 'carp leaping over the dragon gate,' the packaging aims to motivate individuals to overcome challenges and achieve success. The unique triangular shape and environmentally friendly materials set this packaging apart, offering both practical and symbolic value.

The unconventional triangular design of the packaging box allows for flat placement of shoes, clothes, and accessories, reducing packaging materials and logistics costs. Accommodating a wide range of children's shoe sizes from 31 to 43, the design emphasizes environmental sustainability. The use of recyclable materials and the reduction of overall packaging volume and weight demonstrate the commitment to eco-friendliness.

Starting in March 2023 in Xiamen and concluding in June 2023 in Beijing, the project posed various challenges, including the production of the unique triangular shape and the need to ensure uniform quality while controlling costs and schedules. The design process involved extensive market research, creative exploration of Chinese traditional culture, and rigorous feedback collection to refine the packaging's appearance, user experience, and logistics.
