WHYIXD's 'Tender Soul of Ocean' Lighting Installation
WHYIXD presents 'Tender Soul of Ocean,' a captivating lighting installation inspired by the serene northern coast of Keelung, Taiwan. This innovative creation translates the hidden environmental cues into visible lights, emphasizing nature's messages and the profound link between humanity and the environment.
The installation, positioned along the coastline, features a visually immersive LED matrix resembling a floating wave, comprising 840 individual LEDs, each independently controlled via a DMX system. It adapts instantly to the wind's strength and direction, unveiling the subtle shifts in the breeze, creating an ever-evolving play of light.
By converting wind data into a mesmerizing display of light, 'Tender Soul of Ocean' delicately mimics the subtle changes in the air, inviting individuals to step into the light waves and experience the immersive luminous display firsthand.
About WHYIXD
WHYIXD, a rare cross-disciplinary art installation design team in Taiwan, was founded by Yen Po Yeh, Zih Jing Wei, and Jie Lin Zhuang in 2011. WHYIXD's works have spanned different spaces and borders, from outdoor public art to stage application, depicting the inner poetry with technology and art, and delivering more exquisite feelings that cannot be described by words and images in this digital era.
