Japan's social structure is changing significantly both in quality and quantity as represented by the declining birth rate and aging, shrinking population. At the same time, the accelerating digitalization and the uncertainties triggered by the spread of the coronavirus has made us realize the importance of well-being, a healthy physical and mental state. These changes in the social environment and diversifying values have affected our personal and professional lives. We need to think outside the box to reshape an environment in which we live and work. With the integration of Mitsui Designtec Co., Ltd. with Mitsui Fudosan Reform Co., Ltd. on October 1, 2020, we started anew as Mitsui Designtec Co., Ltd. By combining strengths of the two companies through the integration, we will work to strengthen design capabilities spanning areas in personal and business life and strengthen our structure aimed at the utilization of existing real estate stock in addition to providing one-stop solutions to address all issues and needs related to space. New Mitsui Designtec Co., Ltd. will assume the businesses of both companies, and work on interior refurbishing and conversion work, interior proposals and sales, and home renovation by leveraging design capabilities in all facilities required for personal and business life. While the company has three pillars of business, we will further evolve by utilizing“cross-over design capabilities”spanning business domains to provide spaces anticipating what will satisfy customers in the times to come. We will continue to grow and strive to ensure all employees work as one, in order to enrich the lifestyle scenarios of customers in all situations such as home, life, work and relaxation through space design.
