Phlegon was designed by a group of designers who wanted to bring about a change in the perspective of society on how they look at users with paraplegia. They were driven towards providing relief and freedom to the users. The resulting blueprint is a balanced combination of postural support, propulsion, portability, stability, and flexibility of use while outdoors. Wheelchair users often face frustrating limitations due to the existing wheelchair designs and the risk of injury. The dependence on others in getting on/off the wheelchair, pressure soars, bumpy roads, or reaching the higher place is another difficulty they have to deal with daily for daily tasks resulting in emotional stress.
