Yi-Chang Chen is a lighting designer with architectural background which is rare in lighting design industry in Taiwan. He emphasizes the use of "light" as a medium to cut into the cultural texture of the city, to integrate architectural details to present unique space aesthetics, and to guide users to create personal memorial linkage to the environment. After graduation from the MFA lighting design graduate program of Parsons New School for Design in New York, he returned from the United States in 2010, joined the PhD. program at Department of Architecture, National Cheng Kung University and devoted himself to the research and education of light environment-related issues. In 2012, he founded the OuDelight inc. to implement lighting aesthetics and awareness into actual buildings and spaces. Then in 2020, he co-founded the "Taiwan Lighting Society" to set up an information exchange platform among lighting industry in Taiwan.
