The artist Xu ge’s works are composed from his obsession with science, especially with mechanics, physics and electronic control. Deeply influenced by European classical automation art, he focuses on the motion mode of the machine, emitting sounds and the internal poetic appeal. Besides the functionality of the machine, the internal mechanism of producing motion and imitating life accounts for his obsession. In recent years, in virtue of scientific and technological media, like sound and light as well as the popularization of modern control technology, Xu ge has began his attempt in creating a series of dynamic, rigorous but affectionate scientific art expressing approaches in the context of public art. Dynamic motion infinitely stretches the originally static plastic arts in terms of time and dimension.
