Chang Kyu Lee is a New York based Architect and Principal at GEBDESIGN. Chang Kyu Lee received his Master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation. He has worked at number of award winning firms including Kengo Kuma in Tokyo, Coop Himmelb(l)au in Vienna, and Hyundai A&E Associates. Co. Ltd in Seoul. He founded "GEBDESIGN" in 2011 for his own architectural projects. GEBDESIGN. is an award winning firm that focuses on the manner of relationship, proportion and details of architecture and seeks a design and illustration for city, nature and people. The firm believes design should be clear, simple and refined to the last detail. He won numerous competitions and awards. His recent project 'A House' received Silver Medal from A' International Design Award 2017 in Italy. Also, he won from The American Institute of Architects(AIA) Emerging Professional Exhibition 2017 (Theme : Citizen Design). Project 'One House' won at the 24th World Architecture Award 2017. In addition, his project, 'Instant City: Living Air-Right' was selected by Dezeen magazine as one of the top 10 conceptual skyscrapers of 2017. Also, 'plaYform' was selected as the Winner for 2016 Central Park Summer Pavilion International Competition and was selected his proposal ‘e(X)port city’ as the Winner for 2015 Jamsil Sports Complex International Competition. He also joined as a jury for international architecture competition at Ideasforward (Biomimetic, Home) and Archstorming (Mosul Postwar Camp). Also, he was invited lecturer at Yonsei University, Keimyung University and Hanman University and studio review critic at Columbia University and Pratt University. Chang Kyu Lee is an Associate Member of The American Institute of Architects (AIA), Member at IAD (International Association of Designers), and artist member at Museum of Modern Art and Whitney Museum of American Art.
