This project is to design the inaugural ‘In the Arena Award’ presented to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in November 2018 at The University of Texas at Austin. Team of ten design students from wkrm design under the creative direction from the professor, worked together to conceptualize the award to recognize those who have dedicated their lives to public service. The physical award and its case, overall branding, promotional collateral, and letterpressed program and citation were designed and fabricated by students team in-house.

Jiwon Park is a graphic designer, visual communicator, educator, and social entrepreneur, living and working in Austin Texas and Seoul Korea. A former Fulbright Scholar, Park holds an MFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has worked at Samsung Electronics, her own design agency DAREZ Inc., and Brand Environment Ltd. in Seoul and London. She is a serial social entrepreneur who found 1/2 Project, Design Can Do org., and SAIB & Co. Park’s works have been selected for 25 international design awards, and have been featured in numerous international publications and exhibitions. She was named a Next Generation Design Leader by the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy in 2011 and 12, and one of 50 Young Cultural Innovators by Salzburg Global Forum in 2015.

wkrm is a student-run, faculty-led design studio housed at The University of Texas at Austin.
