The collection POP App designed for the stoneware ceramics manufactory Manufaktura in Boleslawiec is a series of wallplates and vases using a new language of motifs in traditional stamping technique derived from pop culture and the internet and connecting it with Boleslawiec` heritage such as the use of Cobalt blue and the forms of rings and dots. In POP App Natalia Suwalski experiments with size, technique and colour, taking influence on the production process. The industrial designer plays the handmade character of this craft by accepting errors and odds and reveals their beauty through it.

Natalia Maria Suwalski is an Industrial Designer born in Warsaw and raised in Bonn. She graduated from the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design and Konstfack Stockholm and accomplished her Master Degree at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel. Natalia is an international Fellow and representative for Poland of the cultural institution Domaine de Boisbuchet. She worked as an editor of the renamed design magazine Form – The Making of Design at the publishing house Birkhäuser Verlag in Basel and as a member of the jury of the Art Director´s Award in Riga. In 2013 she established her own studio Natalia Suwalski Design in Zurich which carries out a wide range of product designs, as well as visual merchandising, stage design and artistic direction. She collaborated with Jerszy Seymour Design Workshop, ID Design Stockholm, Christophe Marchand Design and the Swiss national Television SRF. Natalia´s work has been exhibited in Milan, Cologne, Basel and Lucerne. In 2017 the studio was moved to Warsaw, where she is responsible for the creative direction of a new brand named Faktoria Betonu.

The Manufaktura Sp. J. Smolenski & Zwierz Stone Pottery Factory in Boleslawiec is a family company which combines the tradition of manual pottery creation and decoration with new design trends. In co-operation with renown artists, Manufaktura translates Boleslawiec traditions into contemporary Customer requirements.
