70 Vestry is designed by the legendary Robert A. M. Stern Architects who helped select the Beaumaniere limestone for the façade which comes from a quarry on the banks of the Seine, 250 km south of Paris. This naturally-honeyed aristocratic stone has been quarried in the French countryside for hundreds of years and delivers beauty, quality and consistency that 70 Vestry required. Design strategy for 70 Vestry addresses resiliency, in particular the way the motor court and lobby are subtly raised above street level, with flood gates.
