Marquise Deposit of Rain Water

A sustainable glass and steel structure as the new icon of Barranquilla, Colombia´s port city. Inspired by the marquise diamond cut known as the boat-shaped /navette, reimagines the heritage and cultural treasure of the future city. It contributes to sustainability through a mirror of water with two concrete tanks that collect rainwater, avoiding contamination and collapse of drain lines, allowing reuse of water for irrigation. The obelisk, 145mt tall the highest in Latin America. Its led system and breathtaking panoramic views offer a new identity to current and future generations.

Ricardo De Castro. Architect, Designer and Builder.

Ricardo De Castro was born in 1978 in Barranquilla, Colombia. He Graduated from the University of Catalunya, in Barcelona, Spain. Ricardo started his career in Milan at Lissoni Associati, the world-class, award-winning design studio of the recognized architect, Piero Lissoni. After acquiring a vast experience in the luxury design field, Ricardo De Castro moved to the United States. Then, he associated with Luminaire gaining skills in the business related area of design. Subsequently, he founded his label named Ricardo De Castro Architecture & Design. Ricardo positioned his company as a leading creative force. His expertise allowed him to achieve projects in different countries and contexts as he executed luxury designs for exclusive customers. Progressively, he has gained recognition by the high standard craft of materials and tailor-made designs that interpreted each client’s individual lifestyle. Ricardo’s creations are found worldwide in countries like France, The United States, Panama, Ecuador, and Colombia.
