A Chapel in Switzerland, that integrates the landscape, becoming part of it. The search of the light is the concept behind the volume form. The interior space of the chapel was created to be closed towards the landscape, becoming a space of introspection. In opposite, the sacristy opens up to the landscape creating not only a meditation room, but also a contemplative space. There is a crack in everything that´s how the light gets in Cohen.

Joaquim Portela, architect graduated by FAUTL (Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa) in 1995, Portugal. Works has a collaborator and Project Coordinator at Souto Moura Arquitetos between 1995 and 2010, and has in 1996 founded his company - Joaquim Portela Arquitetos. Since 2008 works in multiple architecture projects on his own as well as a co-author with the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. Parallel to his work as an architect, Joaquim Portela develloped since 2016 many product design projects, having since won 4 IF design awards, 12 German Design Awards, 2 Good Design Awards and multiple honorable mentions.
