Urban was created by Luciana Duque through the concept of upcycling. This concept is one of the main target of the artist through this collection which transforms the use of these metal sheets giving new value through its usefulness and quality. With this aim, the challenge was to create furniture by exploring new possibilities of a material that until today has only been used for a single purpose, rolling shutters. By using these metal sheets, made of galvanized steel, it was able to create curves and shapes that are rarely used in furniture.

Luciana Duque's trajectory as a designer has always been related to the use of natural raw materials, such as wood, steel, glass and fabrics in the production of furniture and objects, in a way that would preserve the environment. At that moment, she came across an enormous amount of leftovers, which aroused his attention to the concept of upcycling. It also came the possibility of creating specific lines, sculptures and objects with the reuse of those materials. This concept in her vision is the design of the future, where people will come increasingly and more with the reuse of materials. It is really important for people to have conscience of the environment preservation.

OBJ Studio and Industry was born in 2016 with the purpose of transforming matter into mobile. Turning mobile into art. OBJ combines the passion for furniture manufacture with artistic aesthetics, thus creating unique and innovative pieces. The company performs and controls all stages of the process, from the idea to the finishing, from the raw material to the furniture store. At OBJ everything is taken advantage of and modified. Sustainability is not a concept, but an action. It is within their creative process, where they ensure that each material will play a role. It is so, that for 3 years years, they have given to their costumers a pleasure to be ate home.
