The Thriving Restaurant is located in Shanghai Lujiazui Financial Development Zone, adjacent to the Shanghai Center Tower and other three tall towers，and connected with the Shanghai Global Financial Center. At the beginning of design, the client suggested that although the restaurant was on the second underground floor, it was hoped that people still could feel the pleasant and open environment, not the stifling of underground space.

TEAM_BLDG was founded in 2012, they work with architecture, interior, landscape and product. The two founders of the studio consider that the word “BLDG” is a verb than the meaning of architecture, which should be the processing of constructing, and the finished design is just a start of architects’ work. Relative to any concept or style, they are more focusing on the “atmosphere” of building and space, interior and exterior for people. TEAM_BLDG’s design have been recognized by a number of prestigious international design awards such as Chinese Best Boutique Hotel Awards in 2013 and 2014, Best Design 2014 Awards, 2016 World Architecture Festival, 2018 German Design Award.

The Thriving Restaurant is the first Cantonese restaurant owned by a personal client Mr. Wang Yin who has over 20 years management experience on nightclubs and restaurants. Right now, they own 2 restaurants and 2 nightclubs in Shanghai, one of the most international cities in China. Right now Mr. Wang is trying to develop his business scope from restaurant to hotels and developments.
