Design often changes the lifestyle to improve the function or the quality. Sometimes, the design could badly restrict or change those habit. To avoid that bad result of the design, a passive attitude to design was accepted for the case that a number of locals in the Beijing old downtown area still throw away cigarette butt in the drain. If the drain cover is ash tray would be more effective than establishing smoking area at the corner of the street. In that way, the locals do not have to change their habit, which , to some extent, improves smoking manner.

Keizo Okamoto is a co-founder of the design office called odd in Beijing CHINA. With his partner, Tsutomu Deguchi, odd mainly dedicates themselves to architectural and interior design in the old downtown to maintain the traditional aspects and improve the lifestyle since 2012. The odd prized " 100 top architecture and design talents in China" by AD magazine. They also involve a lot of F&B projects which published on the various magazine in China.

The odd is established at Beijing in 2012 by two Japanese designer, Keizo Okamoto and Tsutomu Deguchi. Two of partners have various wide range of background such as architecture, interior and urban design. Odd have dedicated itself from furniture design, graphic design to interior and architecture design. In the country, which concentrated in the huge development, odd pays attention to her disappearing culture and habit in the city. Their reinterpretation gives them inspiration of the design.
