The Experimental Standing Chair was created with the aim aim of avoid the harmful effects of the sedentary lifestyle. The final design based on research and real size prototype tests, as a part of a Master degree project at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Hungary. The furniture allows dynamic posture changes and helps the user to work close to standing position. People can work in leaning position, while there is a position close to normal chair we can use to reduce the load on our feet.
Ariel Levay is a freelance designer from Hungary, also making own brand products. He think of himself basically as a designer with engineering approach. As a child he often dismantled his toys when he did not understand what is inside them, how they work. He was always interested in how things operate, how to modify structures or solve issues. The designer aspire to use materials, resources, and opportunities locally, in his close environment.
