Ploi is a design that is inspired by the geometrical elements in folding technique and the folding characteristic. Instead of paper as a medium, the design uses wire gauze. The design has unique characteristic where the wire gauze creates translucent effect, then combine with the folding technique creates a harmonious pleat following the shape of the design. The folding techniques create the dynamic shape of the design, where it gives different shape and light from each side. This design shows the creativity of craftsmanship by combining material and technique to create a unity design.
Jacqueline has an interest in material and craftsmanship, graduated from Technology Institute of Bandung, major in product design. Her interest is the foundation to merge between art and design in every creation. Currently learning and exploring folding technique to find other practice possibility in material and function. She has exhibited her lamp design twice in Casa by Bravacasa in 2013 and 2016 at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta.
