The tea is one of the irreplaceable parts of Turkish culture and it is almost a ritual in our geography. The slim waisted tea glass is an iconic object, which is a classic that comes to the mind first when we say Turkish art. Therefore, the tea set has been our first project in our series of neoclassical works that blend Turkish culture and Modern design. Serap Korkmaz was born in Istanbul, turkey in 1988. After graduating from high school she moved to Milan, Italy, where she studied Interior Design at Istituto Europeo di Design -IED. After graduating from IED she exhibited her thesis project on VIAFARINI/Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro FAP "Urban Artists Hotel Roelink" . She then attended a hotel design workshop at Domus Academy. After her education she worked at Riccardo Giovanetti Studio as well as Studio Mutti Architetti in Milan. While working she decided to continue her education and then went on to do the masters program in Interior Design at Scuola Politecnica di Design - SPD. Currently she resides in Milan. She participated in the 2011, editions of the Milan Salone Satellite , Her experimental collection entitled SketcTR and including seating and lighting made with natural handmade materials . In 2016 her " Sofia Tea Set " Collection was chosen for During Salone Del Mobile , Nilufar Depot and Fabbrica Del Vapore. She founded her own design studio entitled “ SMDSTUDIO “ in 2015 based in Istanbul and Milano .
