Focal Point Lamp is a source of illumination that serves many purposes. This lighting fixture combines a white-milky porcelain cube swiveling around a solid copper rod with a touch of mint green color in the cloth-covered cord. The LED bulb light source, housed in the porcelain cube, is able to pivot around the bent copper rod which also acts as the stand for the lamp. The lamp made in Montreal, radiates the essence of lighting with a twist!
Chifen Cheng is a Taiwanese Canadian product designer, who was born in Taiwan and grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Being a lover of simple and minimalistic things, she founded Designlump to set her curiosity free by experimenting with materials that she likes, and to enjoy the process of overcoming different design hurdles. Like many designers, she begins each concept with a sketch. As she draws, she experiments with shapes, colors, forms and functions, with the goal of keeping them clean and simple and making them perfect. Her design approach has earned her the Best Prototype Award at the IDS 2014 (Canada’s largest Interior Design Show). It is important for Chifen that her design is affordable and made in a fair and honest way. To maintain a close watch on quality control, she produces some of her products while incorporating other talents into the process. Designlump’s work has been featured in numerous magazines and websites, including Monocle, Veranda, Elle Decoration, Design-milk, Designboom, and Mocoloco.
