Matthew Elton A-Frame Furniture
A-Frame Furniture is Silver Design Award winner in 2015 - 2016 Furniture Design Award Category.
A-Frame Furniture

The A-Frame collection was designed and manufactured in East London in response to the increasing occurrence of smaller and less permanent rented or pop-up living and retail spaces. Each set is made from a single piece of oak, and comprises table, desk, bench, hanging rail and shelving unit. Using no glue or screws, the design instead relies on aesthetically and practically considered 6° angle verticals and precision carved slots to hold each component perfectly together.

Heal's

Heal’s are celebrated for supporting and promoting great design. It was Ambrose Heal (1872-1959) who first introduced the idea of collaborating with both established and up-and-coming designers, by contacting and commissioning them and using his prestige to bring their work to a wider audience. Heal's opened its first shop in Rathbone Place in 1810, before relocating to its current site in Tottenham Court Road in the centre of London in 1833 after the death of Ambrose Heal. Almost two centuries later in January 2014, Matthew Elton was approached by Heal's to design a series of pieces for the 'Ambrose' collection, and after he accepted prototype to final manufacture and production lasted roughly three months. The A-frame Collection was born. The collection was then sold at Heal's, in store and online, from April 2014, and went on to be featured at Tent superbrands the the same year. The collection currently exists as a best-seller at Heal's.
