FLÁVIO MELO FRANCO Veneza Sideboard
Veneza Sideboard is Iron Design Award winner in 2015 - 2016 Furniture Design Award Category.
Veneza Sideboard

With its shape that resembles a Venetian gondola, the sideboard Veneza is a piece of geometric and unusual design. Straight and slim lines give it the appearance of lightness, even though it is a large volume object. The development of this sideboard has clipping and fitting techniques widely used in carpentry. Contemporary and oriented by the social responsibility and eco-friendly design, the entire structure is made of reforested wood.

FLÁVIO MELO FRANCO

Idealized and directed by the brasilian architect Flávio Melo Franco, Flavio Franco Studio started its activities in Teresina, PI, Brazil in 2012, emerging as a side project to the work developed by him in his architecture and interiors office, consolidated for more than 14 years in the Brazilian market. Keeping a bold and contemporary character, the pieces signed by the architect have in their own identity pure and geometric forms. Plans and straight are joined harmonically revealing new design possibilities.

Flavio Franco Studio

With the need to create exclusive pieces for the projects developed by our team, Flavio Franco Studio was founded in 2012, as a parallel activity to the Flavio Franco Architecture Office founded in 2000. After being invited to participate in various national móbile fairs like “Móveis Modernos e Contemporâneos” by the Historical Museum from Rio de Janeiro (November/2013), the Studio gained new proportions and recognition. With honnor, several awards were achieved. The next step was being invited to participate in exhibitions and international fairs, like Brazil S/A in Millan, Italy (2014/2015). The Studio´s creations obtained wide publicity at major national magazines like CasaVogue Brazil, and had several works published in books like, “Design Moderno Brasileiro" by Marcelo Vasconcelos and Zanini de Zanine (Olhares – Publisher) and “Móvel Moderno no Brasil", by Maria Cecília Los Chiavo (Olhares – Publisher). Another important project for the Studio was the line of utilities designed for the Ceramic Serra da Capivara, located in the National Park Serra da Capivara considered the cradle of the American Man. The pieces received prints depicting the existing inscriptions on site. Starting in 2015, the Studio participates in some projects in partnership with greats Brazilian Designers as Zanini de Zanine and Jaime Lerner, who together created the “Projeto Viés”, producing unique pieces in limited editions. Also in 2015, Studio Flavio Franco will give a big step, performing his first solo exhibition at Mercado Moderno Gallery, in Rio de Janeiro. Nowadays, the Studio has a great mix of products manufactured by great Brazilian companies. They are sofas, dining tables, coffee tables, armchairs and lamps. The creation work never stops.
