The King Abdullah Sports City mission was to create a world class sporting facility along with the cultural landmarks to advance the Kingdom's wellness and develop its youth through sports. As with any project of this size and scale one of the challenges is the vast expanse of white wall space and treating them in such a way that will enhance as well as compliment the interiors within it. Elements of the undulating Desert dunes are represented largely by the colour schemes of soft neutrals and earthy tones paired with fresh ocean blue.

The King Abdullah Sports City (KASC) mission and objective was to create a world class sporting facility along with the cultural landmarks to advance the Kingdom's wellness and develop its youth through sports. The location of the stadium was the key to our design concept for the Royal areas and to feel and experience a connection between the surrounding landscape and the interiors. Elements of the undulating Desert dunes are represented largely by the colour schemes of soft neutrals and earthy tones paired with deep sea blue. Materials were selected for their warmth and tactile feel, brown/grey velvets and deep buttoned furniture to portray luxury and comfort. Charcoal grey basalite slabs adorn the main lift cores which provide a dramatic contrast with the soft interiors and the perfect backdrop for the colourful artwork.
