Manuela Hardy Magmarama Building, mining museum
Magmarama Building, mining museum is Iron Design Award winner in 2013 - 2014 Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award Category.
Magmarama Building, mining museum

Manuela Hardys suggestion for a mining museum was inspired by sedimentology , which is the study of sedimentary rocks and sediment consolidation - the study of Earth's soils and their provision . Although the building area was mostly formed of metamorphic rocks , the ilmenite formed from sedimentary rocks. This has affected the studies with slices signifying deposition . Ilmenite are between provisions. The challenge was to bring light and reflections down into the area that is in particularly dark during winter. The result was a museum with many angles and glassurfaces.

My main focus on using natural light and exposure to create interesting spaces. I am also very fond of sustainable solutions in every part of the process. This is also where my interest for this work started. I am educated at Fiuni school of architecture & design, Stavanger (ex.2011). A New interest is Furniture design wich I participate With in this competition. I love to create Things, it gives me a New energy and I almost use it as a therapy in my everyday life.
