Mount Davis Youth Hostel – Living with Our Military History The hostel is sitting at the middle of a unique cultural landscape surrounded by ruins of batteries and barracks, the Mount Davis, which played an important role in the Hong Kong military history since 1911. Before the refurbishment, it was a 30-year-old small building cluster and was not very popular in view of the inconvenience.Given such a strong site character, we want to rebrand this youth hostel to offer a whole new way for travelers to experience Hong Kong.
Founded in 1973 as a registered non-profit organisation, Hong Kong Youth Hostel Association (HKYHA) is one of the 90 associated members of Hostelling International (HI). HKYHA operates seven youth hostels across Hong Kong, providing safe, convenient, and affordable hostelling services to young people and travellers from all over the world. Our hostels serve as an education platform that allows guests to broaden their horizons, learn about different cultures and embrace nature. We work consistently with over 4,500 youth hostels across the globe to promote cultural exchange and environmental conservation.
