Ge Wang Twist Bridge Pedestrian Overpass
Twist Bridge Pedestrian Overpass is Silver Design Award winner in 2024 - 2025 Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award Category.
Twist Bridge Pedestrian Overpass

The pedestrian overpass of Huagai Mountain on Daliang Street, Shunde, is presented to the citizens in a light, silk-like form. The streamlined railing design of the bridge guides the visual extension of pedestrians on the bridge, and its unique spatial form allows vehicles driving under the bridge to capture the rhythm evolution of the building volume at different distances. At the same time, this bridge connects the park walkways of Huagai Mountain and Fengling Mountain, creating a walking network for citizens to get close to nature and move between the city and the mountains.

Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts

As a leader in architectural and art design education in southern China, the School of Architecture and Art Design at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts has opened the first environmental art design major in China since 1986. Always with innovation and practice as the core, it has achieved notable achievements: its environmental design major was selected as one of the first national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites in 2019, and its architecture and landscape architecture majors were respectively rated as first-class provincial first-class bachelor's professional construction sites. The college has undertaken five national-level topics such as the National Science and Technology Support Plan, the National Social Sciences Fund, and has won several honors such as the first prize in Guangdong province's educational and teaching achievements, and the award for outstanding results in philosophy and social sciences. In terms of integration of teaching and research, the school has taken the lead in the design of national projects such as the China Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo and the Guangzhou Asian Games. It has also participated in landmark public art projects such as "Pioneer Cattle" in Shenzhen and "Zhuhai Fisherman's Girl" in Zhuhai to promote the renewal of urban culture. In addition, the college conducted academic exchanges with more than 30 international universities through the "Asian Connection" international cooperation platform, and established the "color application research studio" in cooperation with Dunn Coatings of the United States, introducing cutting-edge international color theory and technology, and strengthening the integration of industry, research and development. The "Qianxiang - Decade" teaching achievements exhibition and the National University Environmental Design Roundtable held in 2020 further demonstrated its leading position in interdisciplinary integration, urban micro-renovation and realistic teaching concepts.
