Solaris is a wall decoration inspired by the fictional planet in Stanislaw Lem's novel, based on the idea of a message sent in response to humanity's search for life in the universe. After days of meticulous drawing, the design was crafted by laser cutting MDF panels and layering them to create a multidimensional wooden structure. The rhythmic transitions between layers, sunset tones, a 45 RPM vinyl record, and sphere details give the piece a striking visual appeal.
I am İsmail Pehlivan, living in İzmir, Turkey. I graduated in business, but I design multi-layered wooden wall decorations and various decorative products, different from my field of study. I mainly focus on Art Nouveau, retro-futuristic, and space art themes. I enjoy working with colors and experimenting with new combinations.
