Color Rhythms Music Festival Identity

The visual identity of the Abd Al Qadir Maraghi Music Festival bridges tradition and modernity. Inspired by the rhythmic patterns of historic brickwork in Maragheh's architecture, particularly the Red Dome, the design honors a millennium of heritage. Typography, influenced by Kufic inscriptions, reflects the region's legacy. Illustrations of musicians' hands playing traditional instruments emphasize the fusion of history and rhythm. The logo embodies cultural preservation while embracing a modern visual approach.

The East Azerbaijan Provincial Department of Culture and Guidance, particularly the Maragheh County Department of Culture and Guidance, commissioned the design of the visual identity for the Abd al-Qadir Maraghi Music Festival. This organization, one of the most significant cultural and artistic institutions in the country, is tasked with promoting Iranian art and culture, supporting artists, and organizing cultural and artistic events. With an emphasis on the historical significance of Maragheh, the Maragheh Department of Culture and Guidance consistently strives to preserve and expand the city’s artistic heritage. The Abd al-Qadir Maraghi Music Festival is one of the city’s most prominent cultural events, held to honor Abd al-Qadir Maraghi, the renowned 9th-century music theorist and composer. This festival provides an opportunity to highlight Maraghi’s historical importance and his influence on Eastern and global music. The visual identity of this festival was designed to reflect Maragheh’s deep cultural and historical roots and its connection to authentic Iranian music. Elements such as architectural forms from historical domes, calligraphy, and a colour palette that mirrors the region’s visual identity were incorporated into the design. This artistic effort serves to introduce Maragheh as one of Iran’s key cultural and artistic hubs, aligning with the department’s mission to preserve and enhance Iranian art.
