Yunhai Shimen Industry Park aspires to be the new engine of industrial and economic growth to Qujiang District, Quzhou, a thriving city in Zhejiang, China. Drawing inspiration from the mountainous landscape in Qujiang, the project design lends itself as an analogue to mountains and clouds with its clean, geometric forms of staggering towers and cascading platforms. The interconnected podium platforms, tower open spaces, as well as a the Cloud Deck gallery together accommodate to civic activities at varying levels and scales.
Minquan Wang is a registered architect in Connecticut and member of the American Institute of Architects. He worked for KPF in New York on a number of high-profile mixed-use projects internationally, including the International Land-Sea Center in Chongqing, Thamrin Nine in Jakarta, and Baker Circle in Hong Kong. He currently serves as an Architect at David Chipperfield Architects Shanghai, where he has been a lead designer on several important public competitions such as the Jinqiao Art Center and Minsheng Wharf Masterplan in Shanghai. He played a key role in DCA Shanghai's cultural practices such as completing the 2023 RAM Assembles. He also taught at Tongji University. Minquan's personal works have received multiple awards and accolades such as the NY Architectural Design Awards, MUSE Design Awards, and the London Design Awards. He received his M.Arch from Yale School of Architecture and his B.Arch from Tsinghua University.
Zhejiang University of Technology Engineering Design Group was established in 1983. It is a large scale engineering consulting enterprise that integrates design, construction and scientific research. It is based on the strong faculty and related disciplines of a comprehensive engineering university, with a high level of scientific research and advanced technical equipment as its advantages. The group currently has nearly 2000 full time engineering and technical personnel, including over 1200 engineers with intermediate and senior titles, more than 400 registered professionals with various qualifications such as national first class registered architects and national first class registered structural engineers, and high level talents such as national and provincial outstanding young architects, engineering survey and design masters and Hangzhou outstanding young architects.
