The building is a modern interpretation of traditional techniques and craftsmanship. The deep eaves of the sloping roof and the linear impression of the wooden latticework, combined with the painted walls, create a peaceful exterior atmosphere. The interior features a six-layered coffered ceiling composed of horizontal and vertical lines, and the beauty of the traditional painted walls and unique structural beauty expresses a Japanese sense of aesthetics and outstanding design.

The number of traditional techniques in Japan continues to decline, and it is difficult to maintain them. I am concerned that if this situation continues, craftsmen who can take advantage of the characteristics of wood and traditional techniques that make use of natural materials will be left out of the workforce, and I, as a temple carpenter, am participating in the Architectural Award to pass on traditional techniques and educate people about the potential of wood.

We pursue the beauty of the structure and the beauty of use, and respond to the needs of our clients by building houses that are not standardized products, but rather specialize in non-standardized products. We break down the stereotypes of the anachronistic image of the miya carpenter's house, and transform our own traditional techniques and technologies into a stylish design [Evolution of Tradition], which is a one-of-a-kind architecture that combines design and construction.
