Tsukiji Sushiiwa Tsukijiten was design in Tsukiji Tokyo, neighbor of former central fish market. Since sushi is now a days known as a world wide cuisine, The goal of this project was to design a sophisticated space which can be passed on to the future, a place where people can enjoy chef's traditional skills and sushi etiquette of Edomae sushi. The essence of Edomae sushi is to maximize the potential of fresh seafood through minimal hand work by the chef. Therefore focused on designing the sushi counter, so that the fresh seafood and chef's skills will stand out.
Hiroaki Iwasa is a holistic architect with a 30-year career designing a variety of projects, from architecture to products to landscapes. He founded HIROAKI IWASA ARCHITECTS WORKSHOP in Tokyo, where he is the chief architect and holds the qualification of a first-class architect. In various projects, he grasps the situation from multiple perspectives and deep insight, approaches the issues honestly from the essential point of view, He has designed and realized rich environments that awaken the five human senses and satisfy a sense of well-being within landscapes, historical and cultural backgrounds. His various works, which emphasize the five human senses, have been realized in Japan and overseas, and have been praised in many fields and received numerous awards.
Founded in 1920. It is located in Tsukiji, the center of Japan's formers fish market, and in front of Tsukiji Honganji Temple. Customers can enjoy the seasonal seafood with Authentic Edomae style sushi prepared by the chef and hospitality in several seating styles.
