On the rooftop of an old house in Taipei, we discovered a unique relationship with the sky that conventional architectural projects would not have. Within this forty-year-old dwelling, we attempted to find a way to represent contemporary living while embracing the traces of the past. Opening and connecting spaces to create versatile and diverse ways of utilizing the area. We aimed to create a relaxing and resort-like living environment for this hidden residence nestled in the old city district.
TAGather Goods, a fashion accessory brand founded by an architect, it aspires to designing each piece not just an artistic expression but also a way to help strengthen a city identity. The brand aims to turn all the undervalued daily elements into classic and yet time-transcending design. "City Colors", "One Piece Fits All", "No Additional Cuts" are three core values behind each design decision.
TAGather Goods, founded by New York architect Andrew Huang in December 2016, is guided by the concept of "Carrying the Urban Landscape." They uphold three core design principles: "Urban Colors," "Seamless Integration," and "Versatility" in creating each fashionable accessory. In 2020, they initiated the "REBIRTH Canvas Recycling and Regeneration Project" in response to the United Nations SDGs Sustainable Development Goals. They use visual outputs from vibrant curatorial events to create unique bags or corporate gifts that can be recycled and regenerated after the exhibitions, preventing them from becoming waste. This initiative extends the life of disposable materials, collaborates with partners to create the most meaningful sustainable design solutions, and aims to become Asia's leading sustainable bag brand.
