Yueh Mei Cheng Shang Shui Historic Reminder
Shang Shui Historic Reminder is Bronze Design Award winner in 2023 - 2024 Installation Design Award Category.
Shang Shui Historic Reminder

The Shang Shui integrates four design elements like tobacco, irrigated water channels, sustainable sources, and the light of hope. They symbolize the memories of Old Taichung-Jiushe, blending the hundred-year development history and land memories of Taichung into the art. Utilizing Augmented Reality, it creates an immersive vision, allowing passengers passing through the Jiushe to witness the history of Taichung's development, thus bringing the environment closer to people. The shimmering water ripples on the ground are given a life-like quality, infusing the site with abundant energy.

Taichung Mass Rapid Transit Corporation

In order to keep up with the rapid development of Taichung City, the Taiwanese government's Ministry of Transportation has prioritized the development of a mass rapid transit system, known as the Taichung MRT. The Taichung MRT, also referred to as the Taichung MRT Green Line, aims for sustainable operation. It is the first metro line in central Taiwan, connecting railway and high-speed rail systems, bridging the urban-rural gap in Taichung, and linking the bustling commercial districts of New Taichung, thereby promoting the growth of Old Taichung - Jiushe. The line comprises a total of 18 stations. The artwork Shang Shui is located on the east side of the first floor of the Old Taichung - Jiushe station of the Taichung MRT, serving as a passage for passengers traveling to and from Jiushe station.
