Dorothee Becker’s Hand is a wall unit designed for the modern home environment. To improve experience following technologies are used: wireless charger, USB portals, rotating light, and dimmer. Colour scheme is improved and blue colour added, as well as sustainable option introduced: leftover from plastic production used for limited edition objects with a unique color scheme. Based on modern life scenarios, it integrates the functions needed. Can be used both at home and at work. It doesn't take up much space, and can fit into any interior.
I am independent interdisciplinary desiner working across furniture, lighting, ceramic systems and sculptural objects. My work is grounded in historical research and cultural memory, translating references from the Russian avant-garde and early modernism into contemporary form. Geometry functions as a structural framework, while color operates as an independent design system. Each project integrates spatial logic, material experimentation and production awareness, connecting heritage with scalable contemporary applications.
Self-taught product designer for the last 3 years. Work combines the principles of decorativeness and strict mathematical calculation. Inspired by the Russian avant-garde and mid-century.
