Wonderland Learning Center

The featured Wonder Café space incorporates a learning tree for a free book-share program and a computer bar where students can borrow devices. Two different atmospheres of comfort and inclusion are designed on either side of the central learning tree for a diversity of learners to work, socialize, create, or learn in an environment that is suitable for their needs.

Barbara Young is an NCIDQ certified Interior Designer, registered in the State of Indiana, and LEED Accredited Professional with practice experience in commercial and education environments. As an Assistant Professor of Interior Design in the Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance at Purdue University, Professor Young’s work explores the intersection of theory and practice which informs her approach to teaching and the classroom experiences she provides for graduate and undergraduate students. Barbara is passionate about using design to imbue dignity and respect for humans that inhabit built environments. Her research areas include design process and participation in the design of public spaces.
