The house is a rehabilation of a 1960 modernist villa, which was partly destroyed by a prefabricated design in the 80's. Much effort has been made in making a modern design in respect of the 60's modernist design. The house is sentered around a central staircase which functions as a air ventilation between the different stories.
Hans-Petter Bjornadal is a Norwegian architect, graduated from the Bergen School of Architecture (BAS) 2003. He is winner of the APDC*IDA Awards 2018, German Design Award 2018 and the American Architecture Award 2016. Finalist in the Architizer 2018 + awards, Architizer 2015 + Awards & WAN-Awards 2016. He was exhibited at La Biennale de Venezia in 2016, Schuchev museum of architecture in 2020, Venice Biennale 2021 and Venice 2022 Art Biennale His architectural philosophy is based on a comprehension of landscape, theories of open form, urban acupuncture, montage and the architecture of event. In this lies an understanding of architecture not only as a vessel of culture open to the future, but also in tune with nature.
