The project needs to redefine water infrastructure to suggest alternate urban development solutions for the rehabilitated post-industrial site. The urban design is applied existing topological configuration in the site to fully adopt the shape of the natural environment. The project aims to create a tourism destination to enjoy leisure activities in Istanbul. The town will establish parks, open public space, hotels, housing, institutions, waterfront, farm, and diverse leisure activity places to enjoy nature and vitalize the local economy.

Dr. Jung Hyun Woo is an architect, urban designer, planner, and educator specializing in spatial network analytics for the urban development area and its design. Her research concerns accessibility evaluations associated with transportation, infrastructure, walkability, culture, public realm, economies, urban form, and design. Her scholarly topics include urban sustainability to create a better city life for the well-being of diverse communities.

AxUP was established by Dr. Jung Hyun Woo in 2020. AxUP is Architecture and Urban design Platform based in Boston and Seoul. AxUP provides evidence-based urban design solutions and focuses on spatial analytics for the development of design research methods, computational tools, and educational materials to support architecture, landscape, and urban design practices.
