Motivated by the way most people are now working from home, Shelter arises as a wooden desk focused on productivity through organization. Since technology has become part of people’s daily routine, this desk’s design allows for convenient ways to connect the user with his gadgets via hidden and practical cable management. The tabletop features rounded drawers to add value to the design language, and material selection intends to give a sense of warmth and serenity to the user.

As a designer I have been pushing myself hard to design sustainable products, either by using sustainable material selection or sustainable ways of manufacturing. As a professional my specialization is furniture design with particular focus on office and working typologies. My relationship with industry is about creating connections between companies as I believe this is the way to solve complex product developments. The balance between aesthetics and functionality is my daily approach in terms of design language.

Born on January 20, 1990, Joao Teixeira begins his academic training with a Product Design BA (2013), followed by an Integrated Design MA in partnership with Amorim Cork (2016). Since 2016 he is the Head of Design at Cadeinor. During his career the designer has already been awarded by the A Design Award, Green Product Award and Cerveiras Biennial Foundation. His products exhibited at Milan Furniture Fair and featured on some of the most important design platforms such as Designboom, Yanko Design, Abitare and Behance.
