MAYUMI EHARA Bay Arce Restaurant
Bay Arce Restaurant is Iron Design Award winner in 2020 - 2021 Interior Space and Exhibition Design Award Category.
Bay Arce Restaurant

The sea side has a large glass structure, and the view of the sea spreads all over. We designed the audience seats in the image of a large ship floating in the sea. The audience seats are round seats, table seats, counter seats overlooking the sea, large table seats and various seats where you can enjoy your meal. I made a beautiful curve with the image of waves on the ceiling of the audience seats. All of this wave curve is made of wood material, and I attached the ones that were bent by hand one by one. It is beautifully lit up at night.

My job is to assist clients and brands grow through excellent interior design. When designing, I make sure to stay true to each client’s concept and each brand’s philosophy. While my forte is in designing stores for apparel brands, including "mystic," "kastane," and "DEICY," I also design cafés, such as "Kagurazaka Saryo" and "Café Fusion 21," located within the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa Prefecture. Occasionally, my work spreads beyond the category of “interior design” to cover the areas of graphic design, package design, and art direction.

The Kanazawa Cruise Terminal Building was constructed in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture Japan as a new gateway to the sea. BAY ARCE is on the second floor of the building. It is a new brand of a company called Maple House, which runs many restaurants in Kanazawa. You can enjoy fresh seafood dishes and sea-inspired desserts at the restaurant overlooking the sea.
