Doplor Sleep is a bedtime monitoring application that takes the environmental noise of the hospital into consideration. The application uses smart algorithms to classify the captured sounds and translates the technical data into user-friendly illustrations and UI. The design has two purposes. The first is to help medical staff and patients be aware of the hospital noise as a sleep-disturbing factor harming people's physical and mental health. The second purpose is for researchers to further investigate the relationship between hospital soundscape and the patient's sleep hygiene.

As a product designer and researcher with full autonomy and initiative, I am highly motivated and have a track record in socially impactful projects, such as healthcare, bring widespread knowledge, and am ready to embrace challenges and include social responsibilities to develop as a design engineer. Currently, I am working on design research for sound problems in the hospital, and finding correlations between sleep arousals and sound disturbances. Soon I will become an interaction designer in a technical company. I hope to make use of my design and engineering knowledge and skills to contribute to the real problems of society.

The Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis is a top clinical hospital in the South Holland municipality of Delft, the Netherlands. The hospital is named after the doctor Reinier de Graaf and has about 3000 employees, of which about 200 are medical specialists. Renier de Graaf Gasthuis has its own innovation platform, which aims to contribute to the realization of innovations within the hospital by bringing in innovative initiatives, stimulating their development, forming partnerships, and creating an internal innovation culture. Therefore, Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis is actively collaborating and supporting young designers and start-ups on their healthcare-related innovations.
