Enhancement of existing benches that prompts the imagination of socially inclusive public space. Ten undulating parts were designed to 'hack' the existing park benches to enhance users' sitting behavior. The newly ‘hacked’ benches have been reoriented towards the visually pleasing open areas including the sky, the lawn and the pond. These small changes transform the park into various clusters of cultural experience. Cultural events such as site-specific dance performance, temporary art installations were organized periodically after the launch of the benches.

Dylan and Hinz are independent designer duo for the public space intervention project "Hack-a-Bench". They believe in "upgrade does not necessarily equal to complicating a design. Keeping things minimal and simple could also be a way to enhance the existing designs in the public space, so as to promote better world and better living in the community.” They design and work together to bring new perspectives on public spaces and arts to the general public through design and social engagement events.

The Art Promotion Office (APO) under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region aims to raise the public's interest in art creation and appreciation, and let everyone experience the fun of art. APO focuses on providing visual art activities and services of high quality and diversity.
